Lawn Fawn All About RED Blog Hop

Hi everyone.  I hope you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving.  I am heartbroken and in shock right now as I have been reminded of just how fragile and fleeting life really is.  We are never guaranteed a tomorrow, but we can be guaranteed of how we'll spend our eternity.  I am so happy to know that I will spend mine with a loving Father and Savior, and I hope you have that absolute assurance also.  If you have questions about how to have this assurance I would be more than honored to talk to you about it.

If you love cute ideas, clean and simple designs, very creative and fantastic inspiration, Lawn Fawn stamps, or any and all of the above, then be sure to join me Dec. 9th, for Lawn Fawn Stamps All About RED Blog Hop.
Have a great week.

Winner for the Disney/ Pixar Hop and a couple of extras for good measure

I had so much fun reading everyone's comments about their least favorite Disney characters &/or movie and I am so grateful for my newest blogging friends.  I passed the 400 mark during the hop, so besides my blog candy I also want to add just a couple of extra little surprise packs to show you my appreciation. The winning comment was

I love the Hanging Micky you made. That's a pretty neat idea.
(Grrr, I don't know why Blogger keeps inserting that extra #1 in front of the #17.  I've tried deleting and re-posting 3 times and it keeps popping up, but 17 was the number chosen by random.org)  Anyways, congratulations Lori, I'll be sending you an email but if you see this before I do, please email me with your choice of either the Spellbinder die set or the pen set and your address.
The 2 extras that were drawn will win a small assortment of Christmas embellishments and stamps and they are

Congratulations ladies!  Please email me with your addresses so I can get your packages off in the mail to you.
I hope everyone has an absolutely wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday.  What dish (or dessert) do you look the most forward to that will be on your table Thursday?  The best things are around the table, but on the table will be my mama's dressing and her snowball cake.  I'm drooling already.

P.S.  I still haven't figured out what commercial starts off with the little kid yelling "it's here, it's here" and neither could my husband even tho' we both can hear it in our heads clear as crystal.  Can anybody think of what it might be?

Disney/ Pixar Blog Hop #4

Child's voice screaming:  "It's here, it's here"
(What commercial is that from?  I can hear it in my head as clear as a bell, but can't for the life of me come up with what the commercial is for.)
Anyway, IT is here, Shawn and Melissa's 4th Disney/ Pixar Blog Hop and I'm so glad you've come by.
You should start at Shawn's and be very sure to go around to all the stops today and tomorrow.   There will be a special letter posted at each stop.  You need to collect them all, then you will submit the phrase they spell out to Shawn for a chance at winning your choice of a Scrap-n-Tote or a Scrap-n-Easel generously donated by Marlo at ContainYa Crafts.
This post was supposed to be a Disney advent calendar, but well...... it isn't and I'll just leave it at that.  Instead how about a couple of cards?
I've definitely got Christmas on the brain and it shows.
This is an accordion peeker card that I got the instructions for from Kim Score at Paper Punch Addiction .

Sleigh from Paper Doll Dress Up cut at 3 inches.  Mickey is the top half only of a cut from Mickey and Friends.
Here's something easy for the kids to do.  Just cut a bunch of Mickey Heads from the Mickey and Friends cartridge, fold them in half and glue them together, one stacked upon the next.   Before closing up and gluing the first and last one together, glue a ribbon hanger in the middle.

This one uses 8 Mickey heads cut at 3 1/2 inches each.
This one uses only 4 heads.

Now how about some blog candy just from me.  Here's a twist for you--tell me a Disney character or a Disney movie that you really DON"T like.  (The special letter is P.)  I'll let Randy (random # generator) pick a winning # next Monday afternoon.  If you are a follower I will contact you to let you know you've won.  If not a follower, you will be responsible for coming back to see if you are the winner,  I really hope and would be honored if you decide to become a friend (follower).
You can have your choice of either of these

You're sure to enjoy your next stop with Ellen, "Miss Cardmonkey" herself.  Have fun on the hop and have a great weekend!

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge and an invitation for you

Hi everyone and a special hello to my newest blogging friends.
Well, just 2 more days until the 4th Disney/Pixar Blog Hop hosted by Shawn (MyCutSearch) and Melissa (DisneyDreamer).  Now, besides getting to see some really cute and creative projects, how would you like to win your choice of a Scrap-n-Easel or Scrap-n-Tote?  Marlo from ContainYaCrafts has generously offered to donate one of these (the winner's choice) for a lucky hopper who will be chosen from the hoppers who collect all the letters that will be at each blog stop for this 2 day hop.
Just to get things warmed up for Friday's hop I made this Thumper card to submit to Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time.
this is an A2 card- Thumper is cut at 3 1/4 inches.

I hope you'll come back by on Friday and until then...wishing you
Sunshine and Smiles, Love and Laughter.

Memories in Tyme Thanksgiving Blog Hop

This is going to be a long picture heavy post so no chit-chat today other than,
Hey, I'm so glad you've come by!
If you want to start at the beginning of the hop go HERE otherwise make sure you hop all the way around till you get back to me because you don't want to miss anything.
I have 3 projects to show today, and first up is this simple little card that I just decided to throw in since it went along with the Thanksgiving theme.
digi by Elizabeth Dulemba (Dulemba's Coloring Pages)

The next up is just an update to what WAS my original project for the hop (until I decided to enter it into a challenge a few weeks ago.)  At the time I posted these place cards I didn't have the alphabet stamps to put the names on them, but have since gotten the alphies and wanted to show what the cards look like finished.
Lawn Fawn stamp sets:  Happy Harvest and Sally's ABC's

This last project is not completely finished, but I'm going to show it anyway because I can't finish it until after we go home for Thanksgiving.
My baby girl just got married in September and I decided to make her this little album/recipe book that will include family pictures and recipes (handwritten by her grandmothers & aunts) of some of our family's favorite and traditional Thanksgiving dishes.  We have some dishes that as crazy as it is- we only fix for the holidays (even tho' we love them) and there is at least one special food we always have that I don't know of anyone else that makes it-at all.  I want to be sure that she knows how to make these dishes and can keep passing down the tradition if she chooses to.
I started with this album kit by The Paper Loft.  I love the papers they used!
It measures 7 1/2 by 11 inches and the pages are at one inch increments.

This is the back of the album.  The brads that hold the pages only go thru to the next to the last page for a neater look and this back cover wraps around the other pages and is just glued to the next to the last page.  If that makes any sense at all!

Anyone who can give me an idea for a better title will get an extra entry in the drawing for the candy.  I just used this Cricut cut from the Thanksgiving cartridge for now.

One of the pockets to hold the recipes.
Only a few of the elements have been permanently adhered since I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to end up with in the way of pictures and recipes, so that's why some of the items look a little wonky.

I do have a token of appreciation for one of you who stops by and leaves me a comment on this post.  I've put together a packet of several really cute Christmas embellishments I purchased.  I would really love it and would be honored if you would become a follower. (I'm so close to hitting 400....)  If the winner which will be chosen using Random Number Generator is a follower I will contact you, if not a follower you will be responsible for checking back to see if you won.  I will post the winner on Thursday, Nov. 18th.  Happy hopping everyone.  Your next stop is Lynne.

More Lawn Fawn fun

Before I say or do anything else I just want to say thank you to all our military personnel; retired, honorably discharged, and active duty and to their families too.  A special salute to all our Veterans today.

Since it's still too early to start putting up Christmas decorations, here's a little card I made using some of my new Lawn Fawn stamps.  I am having so much fun with these stamps.  There are 2 challenges I saw on the Lawn Fawn blog that I thought I'd give a try.  The first one is at Clips-n-Cuts and the second one is over at 2 Peas in a Bucket
there are glittery embossed snowflakes on this page

I used the Making Frosty Friends, Happy Haunting, Smitty's abc's and the Bannerific sets.
Just a reminder, next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19th & 20th, is Shawn & Melissa's 4th Disney/ Pixar Blog Hop and the grand prize will be the winner's choice of either a Scrap-n-Tote or a Scrap-n-Easel plus there will be other prizes as well so be sure you come by and say "Hi."  Have a great weekend everyone!

Tone on Tone Cards

I love white on white especially for Christmas cards.
(Note: because I used metallic paper, this did not photograph well and I tried both indoors and out.  I gave up a long time ago trying to get glitter and metallics to show up in photos.)
I made a card like this last year and liked it so well that I remade more like it with a few different variations.  It is so quick and easy, and rather simple, but I like it.
Indoor shot: white with silver matting
Same card shot outdoors
different variations using silver and gold matting
I also made a version in deep red, green, and ivory with metallic gold matting, but I was afraid the photo (and colorfulness) of it would detract from the tone on tone cards, but I like the way it turned out too.
I used my 2 most favorite embossing folders, Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots and the Merry Christmas one is by Sizzix.  The holly sprig is cut from Cricut Joys of the Season and I used metallic silver and gold artboard/posterboard for matting.
I'm going to enter this at The Cuttlebug Spot's Anything Goes Challenge.   I discovered and started "following" T.C.S. back last spring and just a few days later they went into "suspended animation" so I'm glad they're back and I look forward to seeing all the great creations over there.   (Hopefully I won't shut them down again.)
Now go make it a good day for someone else
and it'll come back to you.
