Designed 2 Delight progressive challenge

Here's my card using this week's free digi "Happiness Blooms" from Designed 2 Delight.  I kept it very simple, but it just needs something else, so I'm going to go back and play with it a little more.  You can't see from the picture but it has several layers & the spiral in the middle of the flower is popped up in a spiral.
I hope you plan to come by and join in the Disney/ Pixar Blog Hop this weekend.  This will be our third one and Shawn from Crafty Chics and the creator of MyCutSearch along with her pal Melissa always do a fantastic job putting these hops together.
Speaking of MyCutSearch, they are celebrating their one year anniversary this week, so if you haven't already, go by check them out & leave a special little love and congratulations.

One last post before I head off to the wedding.

This is for the Designed 2 Delight weekly challenge. I couldn't let the week go by without at least making my weekly entry even tho' I really should have been doing other things. The wedding is Saturday and so far this week has been unbelievable-- for example: spent Sunday afternoon in the emergency room with the bride to be (gall bladder attack we think, she's never had trouble before or possibly a kidney stone.)  She started her new job on Monday and was so sick but couldn't miss her first day so she had to tough it thru & all I did was worry about her all day.  Thank heaven she's a nurse so if she passed out at least she was in a good place for it.  Today the darling son comes down with a stomach virus so no one wants to breath around here now, and something we ordered for the wedding hasn't arrived yet, they're saying it will be here tomorrow.  I hope so because we leave Friday morning.  The groom's parents just decided to invite people that they wanted to at the last minute without the courtesy or consideration of even asking or telling me.  All this and 3 close family members gravely ill.  One, we don't know if he'll make it thru the week.  Yep, that's the way my week has gone, but hey, everything is OK  cause I know that God is in control, and it wouldn't be a wedding without some stress now would it?!

Do you have a "wedding week woes" kind of story, if so please share!  I would so love to hear your's.
I will be back next week so until then...have a great weekend and y'all hold the fort down till I get back.

The wheelbarrow image is a digi called Autumn Harvest by Designed 2 Delight.
The pumpkin was stamped by an older wood & rubber stamp I've had a while.  I also used my paper crimper which has been in the drawer for eons...and I colored everything with NO, NOT my Copics, I used Bic Markers.  Hmmmm, I don't imagine I'll be doing that again in the future, that is unless I absolutely have too.
I will say tho' that the colors in this card don't look near as "off" in person as they do in this picture.

OWH virtual card making party- #12

Remembering...

Happy Birthday OWH and welcome to the party everyone!  I am challenge #12 for the virtual card making party and my theme is Daddy's Child (Daddy's Girl left out the boys and that wouldn't be fair- or nice, so we're calling this Daddy's Child to include everybody.) Your mission should you choose to accept ... is to make fun cards for a Daddy to send home to a child; Pop-ups, Fun folds, Wobblers, whatever you want.

For this first card I included an Action Wobble to make the flower giggle and jiggle" and i included a little coloring page.  Don't most little girls love to color?  (I know this big girl does.)
My second card was supposed to be for a boy, but the dear husband came in my room to see what I was doing and informed me that my boy card was "too girly."  So I stopped mid-stream and went in another direction.  This is what I came up with...probably still too girly, but oh well...

I'm not going to bore you with the details but if there is anything/product I used that you would like to know about just ask.
Now it's your turn.....make a card for a Daddy soldier to send to his little troopers back home, (and hopefully you'll send it and all your other challenge cards in to OWH.)  I'm praying that the inlinkz thingy works, I've never posted it before.  Link up your card here by midnight Wednesday, Sept 14th (EST) and you just may win a prize, that is in addition to the prize of heart hugs you give yourself for making cards for OWH.  Next Saturday is my daughter's wedding so you won't hear from me for a few days but I will draw a winner as soon as I get back and regrouped from the wedding.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and remember
Make it a good day for someone else and it'll come back to you.

I CAN NOT GET INLINKZ TO WORK.  I AM GOING TO ATTEMPT TO PUT IT IN A NEWER POST ALL BY ITSELF.  IF YOU DO NOT SEE IT IN THE NEWER POST PLEASE JUST LEAVE ME YOUR LINK IN A COMMENT SO I CAN COME BY AND SEE YOUR ENTRY.  I WILL ENTER YOU IN THE DRAWING AS WELL.  I'M SO SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

D2D Weekly Challenge & Wedding Countdown

The countdown is on around here.  My baby girl's getting married in a week so my regular crafting has had to take a back seat to wedding preps.  I made myself come in from work today and make this card for the weekly challenge at Designed to Delight because I don't want to miss out on this week's freebie.  I'm hoping with the holidays just around the corner, they're going to start giving away a lot of holiday digis, plus the fact that their images are so cute I just don't want to miss any of them.

I should note that I only used a small portion of this cute set they gave away last week called Falloween Cat.  I had a different idea and plan in mind and well, it just didn't happen.  What I had in my head didn't quite work out on the craft table.  Don't you hate it when that happens?!  Because I had to "back up and punt" I ended up also using some digis from Sassy Studio Designs.  I've just learned about them thru the Free Digital Stamps site.
Speaking of Digis...I have not abandoned my Cricut.  It's just that when I discovered digis a few months ago I kinda went crazy with them and put my BUG on hold.  I've recently gotten 7 new Cricut Carts that haven't been touched other than to take them out of the box, so after the wedding I will link them to my Gypsy and get busy exploring and using them.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend & do me a favor...please pray for no rain next weekend on Hilton Head Island (Saturday the 17th.)  The long range forecast is HORRIBLE and this is SUPPOSED to be a sunset beach wedding and outdoor reception.  It's not looking too good for that but IT IS early........

I almost forgot to add that I'm also going to do something with this card that I don't do too often and enter it in another challenge- Emma's My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge.  It meets the criteria so why not?
Wishing you all sunshine and smiles,
love and laughter!
