Unchained Melody

I made this card last weekend and the entire time I was working on it the old Righteous Brothers' song, Unchained Melody kept going thru my mind.  This week the challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot is anything inspired by a song. so I'm going to enter it over there for one reason more than anything, to try & get ...
HELP!**If anyone reads this post and can give me some tips on trying to photograph these cards PLEASE do.  (Extreme desperation & frustration here.)  I tried 2 different cameras, and 4 different locations, with flash, without flash and just finally gave up.  There's got to be a way (without taking a photography course) in making decent pictures!
As I said in a previous post, I have a whole list of beginner's questions I would love to ask all the crating "cyberlebrities" and I just may send it out & see if I get any responses.

AAAHAA!  Someone suggested that I use natural light, well that wasn't working inside, so dodging the melting ice & snow drips I tried taking a pic. outside.  It does make a difference I think.  Will try more when everything stops dripping.

  1. What a great card!!! I take my pictures of cards in a white box with the background and base covered in black cardstock - side and top are white. This gives enough balance to reflect the light and the card colors are more true. Hope this helps.

  2. This card is beautiful and the pictures look great, both of them. Although I know what you mean. I have the same problem with lighting. I might try going outside as well, but I'm usually taking my pictures at night! Great job!

  4. For a beginner your cards are awesome!! I came over to your site to say hi after you commented on mine. I have the same problem taking pictures and am using my ott light over them. That seems to help. If they are not 3-d I use my scanner and that usually does a better job. Stay in touch (going to the 2 conventions in Feb.?)

  5. Hi Tami! Thank you for all your sweet comments on my posts! :D Your card looks amazing! I love the layering!
About how to take pictures... well, this is how I do it. I use my Singer Universal Hard Carrying Case, just the top part. It's white and I have it stand vertically. Then I place my card inside use two ott light on both side to get an even light to my card. And that's my little studio :) I hope this help! Have a great day!
