Tuesday Tips for Tami- your advice is needed

All About Digis
Last week I started my Tuesday Tips post in hopes of gathering and sharing crafty tips from all my crafty friends.  There are several "areas" I have a lot of questions about so I decided to break it down and highlight one or two topics each week.   I have just discovered and started using digis about a month ago so today is All About Digis.
Any advice or suggestions you can give me would be greatly appreciated.  One thing I am really curious about is how do YOU organize and store yours on your computer?  I'm pretty computer illiterate so I think I've started out all wrong with how I've put my digis on my computer (no organization to it at all, just drop them in a folder,  sometimes several on a page.)  How do you color yours?  Do you go ahead and print them out when you get them or wait till you have a need or idea for using the image?   What do you use to download yours (I'm currently using a trial version of WinZip, but it will expire soon, so I've got to get something permanent.)  Anything you can share would be great!  Thanks everyone.
Wishing you sunshine & smiles, love & laughter.

  1. Well i made the mistake of just downloading them as well and i had a few pages...Now i lable a folder (valentine) and every digi i get related to that goes in that file. I print what i'm going to use and color it. When printing i use my microsoft word or publisher and put as many images as i can usually 9 or so fit good for cardmaking. That gives me a choice of what to color at any givin time..i'm a newbie as well and hopefully can also find some good tips..www.canadiancraftcorner.blogspot.com

  2. When I get digi's I put them in individual folders by designer. That way when I use one and post about it I can link it back to that designer/blog site. I only print out the image I plan on using but I print an entire page so no paper is wasted, then either I save them for another time or my kids color them :) I just print them out with micro soft word also and I agree with Kim, 9 fits on a page just perfect for cards. Hope this helps!

  5. Hey there sunshine!! ( I LOVE the bright cheeriness of your blog) Aidan is doing ok. He went through a few spells here recently but is doing better. His port will be replaced next week along with another spinal tap and more chemo. The port is not working. He had his 5th radiation treatment today and it went good!! His ANC levels are doing better. ( anything under 1000 is LOW.. his is 800.. this helps the body fight infection) Thank you so much for asking about him. He is such a lil doll and his parents are so strong. You are too sweet!!! No, never received Nesties!! I actually forgot about them too. LOL.. No big deal hun. I hope someone is enjoying them. :) I'm happy you stopped in to say hello!! We should chat more.

    Hugs,
    Tanya

  10. I put my digi's in folders according to artist. That way I can thank them and know who to link to when I use them also. I also print as many on a sheet to not waste the paper. I also save the scraps of that paper to use my rubber stamps on for little things like sentiments etc. I also have a free Zip program for you that I found and it has been working great it is:

    JZip-here is the address:

    http://www.jzip.com/index.php?bt=c&r=502&gclid=CIvUvMTGtKgCFQkCbAodFBw_Dg

So far I haven't had any issues and I use it all the time. I have an XP still. :) I hope that helps.
