My first box card

Amy at Love to Crop introduced me to a new blog Laura's Crafts and More last week and Laura had posted a tutorial on a new type of card called a box card.  These are so fun & so easy to make and they are something different so that automatically gives them an extra star in my book.  My only problem is that I hardly have any double sided paper at all so I was very limited with what I had to use to make one of these.  I'll definitely be on the look out for some more double sided papers!  Any suggestions for paper companies that make double sided papers?  All my nieces and nephew (except one) are teens & 20's so gift cards are the norm for us and this year there will be a lot of these box cards being made to put them in.
Amy (a.k.a. Snow White) loves these so much she is hosting a little challenge for anyone to make one of these cards and post it at her blog.  Check it out HERE.  You have until Aug. 11th to submit your entry.
Most of you bloggers are too young to even know what I'm talking about, but for those of you in my generation all I can say is "trrrryy it..... you'll liiiike it" (Remember that?  And will you admit it if you do?)
Anyway, hang on we're half way to the weekend
and remember...
make it a good day for someone else, it'll come back to you!

  1. Terrific job, Tami! I've seen a few of those now and they're really neat. I know K&Co has double sided paper, and I'm sure there are many others. I'm old enough to admit that I remember Try it, you'll like it, but now I'm not sure who said it. I might be getting that mixed up with the commercial about Life Cereal, Give it to Mikey, he'll eat anything!--Pat N.

  12. Tami....this is AWESOME...can I please have the link? LOVE IT...I to love the "out of the box" card and this one is definitely one of those.!!!!! I find my double sided paper at Michaels and AC Moores and get it when they are 1/2 off. I also use a lot of K & C Company packs from both of these places when they are 1/2 off or at least 40% off. They are also at Hobby Lobby, but not individual sheets. Don't forget...the link to this super fold please!!!

  14. What a cute gift card holder, Tami! I love the papers you used and the layered circles for your Santa head. Too cute! If you're looking for double-sided papers, almost all of K & Company's papers are double sided. That's one of the reasons they're my favorite paper company. I'm anxious to see their Christmas designs for this year.

  15. Great card! I love the box idea. I'm hoppin over to see how to make one so I can try it out. I use g.c.d. studios, Martha Stewart and K & Company two-sided papers. DCWV and Basic Grey also carry some double-sided papers too.

    18 days til CKC!
